Affirmations

I started using affirmations at the age of 14 when I was given a book, by Mr. Dugan, called "I Dare You" by William H Danforth. It changed my life.  It gave me hope to think positively in order to have a more positive outcome in life.  Which led me to a book called, The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz, and then The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale.  These books were all books I had read by the time I was 18 years old. I've read countless books on manifesting the life that you want by co-creating with the universe.

What are affirmations? They are short, positive, statements that assist us in shifting our thoughts and intentions, to inspire positive thinking, goal setting, and positive action.  If you want to change a habit, or manifest some new energy in your life, remember that twenty-one times makes a habit.  If you can stick to a daily regimen of a particular practice for at least twenty-one days in a row, you have set the pattern!  Once something becomes a habit or pattern, you notice when you forget to do it.  The fact is, once you make it to the twenty-one days, it is easy to continue the regimen because you begin to notice things shifting in a positive direction early into the process, and that means you are more likely to continue on the path of positive thinking, goal setting, and positive action.  

Below is some food for thought and some positive affirmations that I've put together that are often universal themes in my practice.   

 

Positive thoughts bring about a positive attitude, which brings positive action, and allows more positivity to flow into your life.

To get the most out of affirmations:

  1. Commit them to memory by reading them daily, 2-3 times daily.  The shorter the better, and easier to commit to memory.

  2. I find that writing them down 3 times each right before sleep helps to reach deeper levels of consciousness.  Also helps us go to sleep with positive thoughts.

  3. Remember that 21 times makes a habit.

  4. Journal your results. Noting how you feel, any shifts you notice, etc.

  5. Stick with it!

  6. Don't give up!
